Lee Shiu-hung
Professor Lee
is Emeritus Professor of Community Medicine of the Chinese University
of Hong Kong. He is also Honorary Adviser for External Affairs of
Institute of Chinese Medicine at the University, and chairs two
steering committees for health promotion and healthy schools in
the University.
Professor Lee
joined the Chinese University of Hong Kong as Professor and Chairman
of Department of Community and Family Medicine in 1994, and later
as Director of School of Public Health from 1999 to 2001. Prior
to that, Professor Lee served in the Government as a health official
for 34 years. He joined the government in 1960 as a Medical and
Health Officer, and by 1989 and up till 1994, was Director of Health.
Professor Lee
was the founding President of the Hong Kong Society of Infectious
Diseases and the Hong Kong Epidemiological Association. He is currently
Chairman of the Prevention of Legionnaires Diseases Committee and
Vice-President of the Hong Kong Tuberculosis, Chest and Heart Diseases
Association.
